Bangalore: The city-based Automated Workflow Private Limited (AWPL), a provider of Business Process Management (BPM), today announced its merger with the US-based Silicon Plains Technologies Inc (SPT), a well known name in Enterprise Content Management (ECM).

The merger would result in better positioning of the company- -Silicon plains in the BPM and ECM space, revolutionising the fast evolving market, enhancing and complementing the IBM WebSphere and Data Product Set world over.

The intellectual property assets, sales and technical resources of the combined companies puts SPT in a class of our own.'' No other business partner had the same breadth of products, solutions and services of BPM and ECM solutions,'' he added.

AWPL Executive Chairman and Director-Quantum Growth Sunil Savara said ''We believe we have found the perfect business partner in Silicon Plains. It will bring our proven workflow and content management solutions to US customers and create a win-win situation for everyone involved.'' He said with the merger the Company, there would now be 120 handpicked people strong in BPM and SCM Domain and well positioned in Asia and US. The company was aiming at expanding in Europe and Latin America with its range of solutions, he added.

With India fast becoming a hub for banking, insurance and financial sector, the company intended to revolutionise the fast evolving market by its state-of-the-art solutions--DotSphere and other solution accelerators. The company was expecting to increase its present strength to 150 people by March 2005.
