Bloomberg after achieving a citywide smoking ban and greatly expanding city hospitals now wants new technology -- computerized medical records to cut down on unnecessary prescriptions and lab tests.
Ferrer: "Mike Bloomberg knows that leadership from this city to the state can get us not only better coverage for those New Yorkers but start removing the bureaucratic barriers to coverage in the first place."
Bloomberg: "I don't know what to say to him. I mean we're working as hard as we can. We've added a million people to the public insurance roles over the last four years."
Today on the campaign trail, former Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry toured a clinic with Ferrer. And then took this swipe at Bloomberg.
Kerry: "I think he's one of the large donors to Tom Delay, who made a significant effort to create a Republican Congress that fights these programs. He's a republican. I'm a democrat."
