It takes a special kind of person to pull up stakes and move across the country every 13 weeks. Yet as many as 20,000 traveling nurses have signed up for that job.

"It's a perfect opportunity to get out and travel and see different parts of the country," said Eric Schoolcraft, who has been working as a traveling nurse along with his wife Jill, for the past three years.
