• Lansing-based Accident Fund Insurance Co. of America has agreed to buy New Berlin, Wis.-based workers compensation company United Wisconsin Insurance Co. The financial terms of the agreement were not released.

• Rochester Hills-based Ovonic Fuel Cell Co. LLC received a $400,000 grant from the Michigan Public Service Commission to develop a prototype fuel cell system for uninterruptible power supply and emergency power applications.

• Wal-Mart selected Troy-based G2 Consulting Group to provide construction engineering and quality control services for a new Lowe's Home Improvement Center at the Southfield Freeway and Outer Drive in Allen Park and another new center at Ford and Sheldon roads in Canton.
