I'm amazed as how biased the news is. It was like the Democrats had given this country a great victory with a time limit on the war-funding bill. Little mention was given as to how they got the votes. It had $24,000,000 of pork dollars added on. Most people want an end to agriculture subsidies that go to only a few wealthy farmers. This bill gives millions to a few spinach, peanut farmers and a representative of Congress to remodel his office.

Brave men and women go back to Iraq even after being wounded. Our liberal Congress wants another Vietnam defeat. With a heavy heart I watch our liberal Congress and media lay the groundwork for a defeat in Iraq. Which will set up the start of a much bigger war like what happened before World Wars I and II.

I had a great aunt Kate Bishop in Omro. When I would visit her in a nursing home she would have me say a prayer with her to support President Kennedy and the difficult time he was having, this from a lady who was a strong Republican.

Iraq won't just be a defeat for Bush. The U.S. will become an easy cowardly target for terrorists. Talk to returning servicemen and unbiased news services on talk radio. You won't believe how much you have missed. Just last week most of President Bush's comments were left out of this paper and the biased news.

As an advocate who works with survivors of sexual assault, I was shocked to learn that some survivors may actually be billed for a sexual assault forensic examination. This is an affront to the dignity of survivors.

Currently, a survivor may receive compensation for the forensic exam if she/he reports the assault to police within five days and attempts to seek reimbursement from insurance. These conditions exclude a significant number of survivors, who for privacy reasons elect not to report the exam to their insurer and are initially unsure of whether to report the assault to law enforcement. The Wisconsin Department of Justice has recognized that survivors of sexual assault should not be forced to choose between privacy and paying for evidence collection and has set up an informal "SAFE Fund" to compensate survivors who are otherwise ineligible for compensation. Unfortunately, the SAFE Fund is inadequately funded and not a permanent part of Wisconsin law.

As part of his budget the governor has recommended the creation of a permanent SAFE Fund. This would ensure that no victim is ever billed for the cost of a forensic exam. Please contact your legislators and ask them to support the governor's proposed SAFE Fund.

Part of the first sentence of the unanimous Declaration of Independence by the original 13 United States of America says, "When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and assume among the Powers of the Earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and the Nature's God entitle them etc., etc."

The founders of our nation based their entitlement to become independent on God's law. They acknowledged that there is a natural law and that there is a God as its determinate.

Modern society, through the courts and schools, is trying to marginalize God, dismiss God's inherent right of jurisdiction and repeal the laws of nature. The nature of the mouth is to take in nourishment and the rectum to eliminate waste.

General Pace while answering questions on the military and homosexuality was pilloried for saying homosexual acts were immoral. It was his right and duty. He apologized by saying (paraphrased) that, "He should not have answered with his personal moral thinking."

However, affirming that there is a moral law is not only his personal belief but a belief written in the hearts of mankind from the beginning and acknowledged by our founding fathers in 1776.

One of the best things about spring is waking up to sunshine. I am just wondering if this earlier daylight savings time is going to affect our biological clocks.

I am wondering if anyone took this into consideration when they decided to make this change. At this point I feel like I have been catapulted back into winter hibernation. The importance of the sleep cycle has been linked to depression.
